So two fridays ago Adam and I were talking and we decided to go on a last minute mini vacation, so we looked online and booked a cottage in centeral louisiana for the following two nights. Mom said she would take Addison for the weekend and let us get away. So we packed up and headed out within 3 hours of the idea!
We arrived at my mom's house around 6 and spent the night. I woke up and helped her with a garage sale, of course EVERYONE, that came wanted to know if Addie was for sale. Then around 12 Adam and I headed out. We got to the cottage around 3 and it was perfect! In the middle of nowhere, on 500 acres with cows and ponds, and we even had a swan on our pond! There was a paddle boat, tree swing, and fire pit!
That evening we went down I-10 into Baton Rouge and met m buddy Brandon for dinner at a KICKa$% place called, Boutins, OMG it was soo good! We had BBQ'ed Shrimp and some beers and then after Brandon left we ordered 8lbs of crawfish and proceeded to gobble it up! There was a Zydeco band and people two stepping! Adam really had the opportunity to see what Louisiana culture really is!
The next day the owners came over and introduced themselves to us and brought us wine, a cheeseball, and fruit, it was so awesome of them! Then recommended us to go on a swamp tour, so we looked it up and headed out! It was Adam's
That night we went to a gas station/truckstop casino, right up the road from the cottage. It was so much fun to my suprise, we spent 5 1/2 hours in this little casino with 20 bucks and drank to our hearts desire and played penny slots! We didn't win anything, but we met some interesting people and had a great time together!
It was such a nice time to get away with m husband and spend quality time with him! I am so thankful to have that memory with him!
